Artisans of Barossa, Barossa Valley’s quintessential wine destination, is proud to announce an extraordinary collaboration with the critically acclaimed Adelaide-based restaurant Soi 38. On Sunday, 1 October and Monday, 2 October, during the Labour Day weekend, diners can immerse themselves in a culinary spectacle that seamlessly fuses Thailand’s robust flavours with Barossa’s finest wines at Essen, by Artisans of Barossa.

Soi 38, an award-winning Adelaide jewel, has consistently delighted palates with its innovative Thai dishes, each bursting with vibrant, authentic flavours that transport diners straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok. This pop-up provides a rare opportunity for Barossa’s gourmands and visiting epicureans to relish Soi38’s celebrated dishes without the travel. Having carved a niche for its ground-breaking Thai cuisine, Soi 38 has a rich backstory. Terry Intarakhamhaeng, once a bird conservationist and tour guide in Thailand, took an unexpected turn to gastronomy. Armed with experience from Restaurant Orana and Street ADL and a degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability from UniSA, Terry founded Soi 38. His approach uniquely marries traditional Thai recipes and local, seasonal produce, underpinned by a commitment to sustainability.

However, it’s not just about the flavours of Thailand. Guests will be treated to a variety of exquisite wine pairings, showcasing the depth and diversity of Artisans of Barossa’s curated wine offer. With a constellation of eight independent family-owned producers and a selection of over 100 wines, attendees are in for an oenological and culinary journey unlike any other.

Spring is the time to refresh and awaken the senses, wash away the winter, and welcome new beginnings.”

Beyond just food and wine, the weekend promises to be an all-encompassing feast for the senses, setting the scene with ambient music, lush decor, and the unmistakable ambience of Barossa’s sprawling vineyards.
