Hobbs of Barossa Ranges
Greg Hobbs | Barossa Ranges
“In the Barossa we have found the place to live out this passion”
In 1995 my wife and I moved our family to the Barossa to pursue the dream of raising our children in the country, and making great wine.
Having a life long passion for wine I sought to combine the Italian, French and German winemaking traditions with an Aussie 'can do' attitude to produce premium grapes and quality wine.
In the Barossa we have found the place to live out this passion.
The Hobbs vineyard is over 100 years old and is located in the Barossa Ranges where the shallow soils, cold winters and warm summers produce grapes of exceptional quality.
The Hobbs philosophy is to nurture rather than interfere with nature.
We care for these vines, with a focus on preserving the complex balance of flavours and acids as the grapes mature. We hand pick when the grapes are at their optimum flavour ripeness and we employ all of our skill and attention to detail to make the most of this fantastic resource.
The result of this slow process of nurturing and flavour management are wines that represent the uniqueness of the region and the passion of the Hobbs Family.
We hope you'll be as delighted as we were from the first taste.
