The Barossa wine fraternity are a well travelled lot. Spreading ‘the word’ has taken us around the world. Meetings and tastings are distant blurs, but sharing local fare over a table littered with wine bottles is unforgettable.
Every Friday night in June and July, join the shared table at Artisans of Barossa as Food Luddite Mark McNamara brings hearty, flavoursome, sustaining and reviving food from around the globe back home.
FRIDAY JUNE 7- JALAN JALAN FOR MAKAN MALAM
Jalan jalan to the Magnolia Rd Hawker Center & order makan malam (dinner time!). Steaming bowls of beef rendang and Malay coconut chicken served w rice and sides of egg sambal, achar & ikin bilis.
FRIDAY JUNE 14 - HONG KONG CHOP
You want chop?!?! Mark McNamara dons the white apron and flip flops, wielding the cleaver to bring you the flavours of Hong Kong– BBQ pork, roast pork and Hainan chicken rice served with steamed Asian green veg. Chop!!!
FRIDAY JUNE 21 - SOUKS IN THE CITY
From the laneways of the old port town of Deira in Dubai, the food of the Middle East comes to you with platters of roasted lamb, chicken and falafel served with pide bread, humus, baba ganoush, garlic yoghurt sauce and fresh salads.
FRIDAY JUNE 28 - DIE WUNDERBAR WEINSTUBE
Oh we yearn for the old days…smoked hocks, weisswurst and bratwurst served with steaming piles of sauerkraut, potato and mustard. Ich bin sehr glücklich!!
FRIDAY JULY 5 - NOTTING HILL BACK-A-YARD
From the ‘back-a-yard’ in London’s Notting Hill, a taste of the Caribbean. Platters of jerk chicken and bowls of goat curry served with traditional rice and pea and hot sauce. Get your reggae on!
FRIDAY JULY 12 - COLCHANNON & CRACKING CRAIC
To the sounds of The Pogues, The Chieftains, Riverdance, U2 and Bob Geldof’s one good song…..Temple Bar comes to Tanunda with fresh oysters, Limerick ham, beef in stout pies, colchannon and soda bread.
FRIDAY JULY 19 - FRIDAY NIGHT AMERICAN SPORTS NIGHT
Rooting for your favourite team can make you hungry…so game night means dude food from the land of the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL - pulled pork sliders, ‘Barossa Wings’, ‘Dorrien dogs’, and ‘Tanunda Tacos’ served with slaw, poutines and relish.
FRIDAY JULY 26 - ELVIS IS IN THE BUILDING
Our last night is Elvis night…celebrate the classic 1958 Elvis flick ‘King Creole’ with the food of New Orleans...chicken gumbo, jambalaya, buttered cobbed corn and corn bread.

PRICE: $35 a head. Artisan wine, beer and ‘softies’ available over the bar at cellar door prices. No BYO folks.
