Artisans of Barossa has an extensive range of wines available for purchase.
A selection of wines that show the depth and breadth of Barossa winemaking styles and grape varietals.
The 2019 Grenache Project features six individual wines produced from the same Barossa Valley Grenache Vineyard. The wines are made by Peter Schell of Spinifex, John and Tim Duval of John Duval Wines, Jason Schwarz of Schwarz Wine Company, Greg and Allison Hobbs of Hobbs of Barossa, and Simon Cowham and Corey Ryan of Sons of Eden. We also welcome Phil Lehmann from Max and Me Wines as a special guest winemaker for this year’s project.
Each winemaker was allocated a single row of 6o-year-old bush vine Grenache in the Scheer Vineyard at Rowland Flat in the southern Barossa and presented with a simple brief – make a Grenache you’d like to drink. The results are outstanding and a superb reflection of the 2019 vintage considered to be another standout year for Barossa red wine. And whilst through each wine, you can taste the consistent thread of the vineyard, each stands alone as an expression of six individual approaches to making Barossa Grenache.
Sales are limited to one pack per customer.
The PUMPA is a blend of Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Tempranillo varieties. Named as a
tribute to Len PUMPA and his fellow Eden Valley Vignerons who pioneered and persisted in one of Australia’s
most challenging but rewarding viticultural regions.
Eden Valley had a mix of British and continental European settlers that tried their hand at grape-growing.
When times were tough particularly in the 1920s many turned away from viticulture, however the Prussian
settlers like Len PUMPA persisted in the face of difficulty, preserving the vineyard resources we are
custodians of today.
*** Last bottles *** Priced to sell! An amazing wine we've had the pleasure of tasting and drinking over the last year! ***
Planted in 1941 these deep rooted vines provide Grenache of exceptional quality. Minimal intervention in the vineyard makes for an amazingly charasmatic wine.
A vibrant and plush Barossa Valley Shiraz from the Stansborough Vineyard at Williamstown in the southern Barossa Valley.
Meta Shiraz is a great divergance from the traditional full throtle Barossan Shiraz. It's juicy, medium bodied and lighter in pallet weight and very very drinkable!
This time-honoured blend is our offering to Zephyrus, Greek God of the West Wind, who is often depicted as a horse due to the speed attributed to this majestic animal. The vineyards of the Greater Barossa are regularly buffeted by cooling Westerly winds creating an ideal temperature range in which to slowly ripen.
Miette is a direct translation from the French word "Crumb".
It's a direct reference to the yummy morsels left on the side of your plate after a hearty meal. Far from being leftovers, Pete Schell's Miette wines represent sensational value and are a great introduction to the Spinifex approach to winemaking.
Very last bottles of this uber-cool Grenache from Jason Schwarz!
John Duval's aim with Entity is to produce an elegant Shiraz true to the Barossa. The 2018 release again includes some Eden Valley Shiraz to help maintain the elegance and style of Entity.
