Produced from just 468 Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted circa 1880
Deep garnet in colour with a brooding complex aroma of dark cherry, plums and roasted vanillin bean. The palate is powerful and well structured, fleshy, with chewy textured tannins finishing with polish and focus. An exceptional Barossa vintage, this wine will mature well for many years.

This wine is blended from barrels selected by the winemakers from each of their cellars. Each parcel of wine is selected for its rich and generous character, deep black fruit and spiced flavour, and smooth texture. The hallmarks of top-class Barossa Shiraz.

The Cabernet that is grown in this vineyard - Boongarrie - is renowned for its intense blood red colour and flavour concentration. There’s plenty of cassis and dark chocolate on the palate with a touch of cedar and fine, grainy tannins. The finish is long and smooth. 2017 was a benchmark vintage for Eden Valley Cabernet, and this wine is a great example of how well this variety is suited to the region
The wines crafted under the Planta Circa name are sourced from an ancient vineyard in Barossa's south. Planted 'circa' 1880 these old vines produce fruit of undeniable quality.
John's aim with Plexus is to express the wide spectrum of red fruit flavours from Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre and also provide structure with a seamless balance and long finish. Traditional, low intervention winemaking techniques are employed allowing the wine to be approachable in its youth, but also cellar for 8-10 years.
