Artisans of Barossa Rose 2017
The fruit is sourced from a 40 year old Mataro Vineyard located on Belvidere Road in Ebenezer in the north western corner of the Barossa Valley. The elevated site on sandy red loams over fractious clay produces a small crop of brightly flavoured, savoury fruit. Following one of the coolest growing seasons since 2002, the grapes were hand harvested in late April. The fruit was whole bunch pressed directly into aged 300 litre oak barrels to enhance texture and varietal expression. The juice allowed to warm naturally to initiate fermentation and then fermented to dryness before being blended and bottled.
