JC's Originale Grenache 2015
The 2015 Originale is sourced from an 150 year old Bush Vine vineyard, located in the gentle slopes of the Angaston Foothills.
At an elevation of 350m above sea level, cooling gully breezes and a sandy soil base ensure grapes are ripening at a steady pace.
Due to the ancient, gnarled vineyard's age, all work is carried out manually. Grapes are hand harvested and fermented as whole bunches.
Maceration is by daily foot treading and using the vineyard's indigenous yeast for a long cool ferment.
Once dry, the skins and stalks are pitch forked into a basket press and gently pressed overnight.
Elevage is in seasoned Fench Oak casks for 12 months, followed by bottle maturation of six months.
1404 Bottles produced.
