Each dozen contains 2 bottles each of the following great Barossa Reds.

Artisans of Barossa ‘Rare Batch’ Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (rrp $55)

Included as something super special for our Friends, a sneak pre-release of our very first wine to appear under the ‘Rare Batch’ label. These wines are made in tiny parcels especially for Artisans of Barossa. This wine was made by Phil Lehmann from fruit grown at his family vineyard Boongarrie. 2017 was an outstanding vintage for Cabernet in the Eden Valley, the district that produces hands down Barossa’s best examples of this variety. Great flavour richness, with a long and smooth finish.

Jack West Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016 (rrp $30)

Speaking of great vintages, 2016 was a Barossa classic, and the wines of the Western Ridge some of the strongest examples of Shiraz from that year. True to the Jack West style, this is made with one purpose in mind – drinking pleasure! Plenty of juicy black fruits with a long, smooth finish. A truly great value wine.

John Duval Wines Plexus Barossa Shiraz Grenache Mourvédre 2017 (rrp $46)

This new release of Plexus SGM is perhaps one of the finest examples of this classic Barossa red blend. 2017 was in contrast to 2019, a cool Barossa vintage and the wines are elegant with great flavour. A beautiful balance of lush Shiraz, bright juicy Grenache and savoury Mourvédre.

Artisans of Barossa ‘Small Batch’ Barossa Valley Graciano 2017 (rrp $38)

From a single vineyard site at Light Pass in the northeastern Barossa Valley. The cooling evening breezes flowing down from the adjacent foothills of the Barossa Ranges bring really nice bright red fruit notes to a plush and soft palate of black/ blue fruits. If you haven’t tasted Graciano before, this is a wine well worth discovering.

Spinifex Barossa Valley Tempranillo 2018 (rrp $31)

The Spanish theme continues with this exceptional example of the classic grape variety of the Rioja region in northeast Spain. Plenty of dark fruits against a spine of fine tannins and bright acidity. Most definitely a great wine for food, with something like slow braised shoulder of pork on a bed of slow cooked lentils a perfect match.

Sons of Eden ‘Kennedy’ Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mourvédre 2017 (rrp $35)

A second Barossa blend, this time with Grenache taking the lead to create a brighter red fruited style. Winemaker Corey Ryan has an uncanny ability to create wines of great flavour concentration, without sacrificing varietal character and elegance. Kennedy is an exceptional example of that!
