Massena Barossa Heroes 6pk
There's no doubt that in my mind Stonegarden Vineyard in Eden Valley's hamlet of Springton Is a special place. The oldest vines on the property go back 160 years here and the acquisition by Vingeron Glen Monaghan of Massena sees him willingly accept a custodian role. There's provenance here. It's many years of grape growing, feet treading rows and working with tough country. 2017 Stonegarden Riesling Is truly representative of this hard landscape. Clean and crisp lines of lemon and lime zest are compelling reasons to have a second and third sip. A perfect aperitif wine.
Massena's 2016 Eleventh Hour Shiraz Is from the Barossa's north. As the name suggests, there was a bulldozer planned to uproot the 60 year old vines, but repeated requests from Jaysen saw the vineyards saved at the 11th hour. This theme of ensuring the longevity of Vineyard sites runs deep in Massena veins. It’s a rich opulent wine, as you’d expect Barossa Shiraz to be. Juicy and generous and sure to please!
