Schwarz Meta Pack
Barossa Grenache is all about the aromatic. It’s a scene setter. Spicy and fragrant with red cherries, red plum and perhaps a hint of perfume. It’s very compelling evidence to make you taste the wine! Schwarz 2017 Meta Grenache is exactly this. Light bodied, and aromatically exaggerated. Perfect with carpaccio, or chilled for 15 minutes before serving and have by itself. It’s a perfect aperitif.
Mataro from the Valley floor is a late ripening variety where its primary role is tannin and structure. Straight Mataro can and does come across a little funky and wild, with dark plum and earthy characteristic. Schwarz 2017 Meta Mataro works great with anything of the BBQ. Here in the Barossa any of the big three Butchers (Thornby, Linke or Schulz) pork sausages are often on the plate when this is in my glass.
Shiraz is dark fruit and mid palate generosity. It's an intense, extroverted variety that punches loads of flavour. Schwarz 2015 Meta Shiraz has an element of Eden Valley fruit which showcases white pepper aromatics and bright red fruit. It’s medium bodied with cherry and plum flavours, a lovely spice melody coupled firm acidity making it great for slow cooked cuts of meat. Chip in 95 points from James Halliday to finish the show reel!
