Spinifex GWT Six
Each six-pack contains a bottle each of:
2018 Spinifex Lola (rrp $31)
A salivating, textural, refreshing and utterly masterly blend of Semillon, Vermentino and Clairette.
2018 Spinifex Papillon (rrp $31)
Eyebrows were raised when I gonged the Sons of Eden ‘Monte’ as the most delicious wine of the year last week. If that wine had an equal, it would be this one! A delicious, juicy and brightly fruited Grenache.
2018 Spinifex Tempranillo (rrp $31)
Vital, youthful and vigorous with plenty of bright, punchy fruit aromatics and a mid-weight palate of lively red berry and tart stone fruit flavours that mesh with nervy, bright fruit acids and light, snappy tannins. Dangerously drinkable.
2016 Spinifex Bête Noir Shiraz (rrp $46)
A brilliant statement of the Pete Schell style of Shiraz. Gone is the excessive sweetness and flabby mid-palate, replaced with a muscular line of intense black fruit wrapped around a firm backbone of tannins and bright acidity.
2018 Spinifex Esprit Grenache Mataro Shiraz (rrp $42)
A masterful blend of Barossa heritage grape varietals from old vineyards. Grenache calls the early shots here with plenty of vigorous red fruit flavour and spice. Mataro gives tannic strength and all-round structure and purpose. A splash of Shiraz softens tannins and brings a lick of black fruit.
2018 Spinifex Rosé (rrp $31)
Pete and his wife Magali have spent more time in the south of France than anyone we know around these parts, and that experience reflects in this superb Rosé made from old vine Grenache and Mataro. A perfect balance of savoury red fruit and bright refreshing acidity make this consistently one of Australia’s very best Rosé.
