Purple Hands Wines (otherwise known as the guys who won all the golds and trophies at last year’s Barossa Wine Show)

Wednesday Night - Colours of the South Rosso 2018 (rrp$30)

A bright, juicy and very gluggable blend of Montepulciano, Negroamaro and Aglianico. Can’t get to Italy this year? This wine will take you there in spirit. Get the red checked table cloth out!

Saturday Night – Planta Circa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (rrp$90)

A 98 point rated wine by James Halliday, this is history in a bottle having been sourced from just 468 vines planted sometime in the 1880’s. Quite possibly the oldest Cabernet vineyard in the world. This is ‘special special.’

Hobbs of Barossa Ranges (otherwise known as icon winemaker Chris Ringland’s next-door neighbours)

Wednesday Night – Aria Secca Shiraz 2018 (rrp$62)

The Hobbs’ Wednesday night wine is perhaps more like a Saturday night wine from many other wineries, but as Greg proudly states – ‘we don’t make a lot of wine, but what we do make is very, very good’! Rich and luscious and perfect for a slow braised ragout!

Saturday Night – ‘Tango’ Shiraz Viognier 2017 (rrp$135)

From ancient 100+ year old Shiraz vines planted high up in the Eden Valley, blended with a splash of Viognier for extra aroma and palate roundness (if you love Torbreck’s Run Rig Shiraz Viognier, you can love 3 bottles of this for the same price!). Very Saturday night!

Lienert Vineyards (otherwise known as the boys from the western ridge)

Wednesday Night – Jack West Shiraz 2017 (rrp$30)

So drinkable, we should probably include 2 bottles to get you through a casual Wednesday night. Dark and delicious all the way to the last drop

Saturday Night – Lienert Estate Shiraz 2016 (rrp$50)

Now with 4 years in the bottle, this is beginning to soften a touch….but deep within the layers upon layers of dark fruited flavour still lurks a good solid line of tannin that makes this perfect for those looking for a bold Barossa red on a Saturday night.
