Jason Schwarz's wines taste of the vineyards where the grapes are grown. And he's got a good eye for finding great vineyards...both Jason's father and grandfather were state pruning champions, he grew up among the vines on the family property at Bethany and he's worked along side some of the Barossa's best known grape growers and winemakers. A shed load of experience has taught him that once you find great fruit you look after it with a light touch. "I like to let the fruit speak for itself", Jason says.
Schwarz Wine Co. Chenin Blanc is bright, fresh, laden with troppical aromatrics and delivered with crunchy acidity. A wine to enjoy now, not deliberate over. Chill, pour and relax!
Perfectly pretty pink rose. Welcome fragrance of soft red fruits give an illusion of sweetness. This is dry Rose that satisfies!
Meta Shiraz is a great divergance from the traditional full throtle Barossan Shiraz. It's juicy, medium bodied and lighter in pallet weight and very very drinkable!
Planted in 1941 these deep rooted vines provide Grenache of exceptional quality. Minimal intervention in the vineyard makes for an amazingly charasmatic wine.
What better resume than a 130 year old vineyard, planted and owned by the one family and is just 400 vines big. Unctious, bold, gorgeously soft tannins and a complex melody of bakery spices.
When Jason tasted his 2016 vintage reds, it was immediately clear that one particular barrel of Shiraz stood out above all others, and deserved to be bottled as a ‘Single Barrel’ release. The wine was produced from Shiraz grown by Ken Loveday in his vineyard at Moppa in the Barossa’s north western corner, and just 390 bottles were produced, making this an exceptionally rare release.
